Spanish Education

There are 3 levels of education in Spain :

The first cycle of university studies (short term courses), which is taken in Escuelas Técnicas Superiores, Escuelas Universitarias and Facultades lasts for three years and leads to the Diplomado, Ingeniero Técnico or Arquitecto Técnico degrees. These courses lead to long-term courses.

The Second level, of study leads to the Licenciado, Ingeniero and Arquitecto degrees, which consist of first cycle, and second cycle studies (long term studies) but a degree is awarded only when the studies of both cycles have been completed successfully.

The Third level is open to holders of Licenciado, Arquitecto or Ingeniero degrees and leads to the Doctor's degree (Título de Doctor), which is awarded after at least four years' further study and research, and after the submission and defence of a thesis. Another postgraduate degree , (Título propio del Centro) is the "Master's" or Maestría degree , awarded after 1 or 2 years of further study.

Why Study In Spain

Spain has a long and varied artistic heritage. It's been home to such well-known artists as El Greco, Pedro Almodovar, Federico Garcia Lorca, Placido Domingo, Pablo Picasso, and Salvador Dali; architectural highlights include prehistoric cave dwellings, ancient ruins, castles, palaces, cathedrals, and modern sculpture.

Madrid , the capital of Spain , is its largest cosmopolitan city, with over four million people. Despite its size, it still keeps the flavour of Spanish culture and offers students the ideal surroundings of historic, artistic, and intellectual tradition. Relatively nearby and easily accessible are the cities of Aranjuez, Segovia , Toledo , and Salamanca , among many others; Spain 's medieval character is tangible in their buildings, plazas, and narrow streets.

Not that Spain is all history. The modern world is alive and well here, and so is the famed ebullience of its people. Students from all around the world visit Spain to study and travel--more than 50 million foreign visitors per year can't be wrong.

Geography and Climate: Spain lies in southwestern Europe, bordering the Bay of Biscay, Mediterranean Sea, North Atlantic Ocean, and Pyrenees Mountains, southwest of France. temperate; clear, hot summers in interior, more moderate and cloudy along coast; cloudy, cold winters in interior, partly cloudy and cool along coast.

Cost of Living: Spain is one of the less expensive European countries in which to live.
In Spain, a worker’s salary includes a base salary and some extra payments, depending on length of service, title, language, and special job characteristics (night work, toxicity, etc.).
